Abstract	「要旨」 高齢者人口の増加に伴う認知症高齢者や, 世帯構成では「親と未婚の子のみの世帯」の増加や, 男性における生涯未婚率の増加の傾向等から, 自宅で親を介護する息子(以下息子介護者)の増加が予測される. 息子介護者では, 高齢者虐待が全体の約4割を占め, 介護離職の増加とともに, 今後の課題と捉えられる. そこで本研究は, 認知症の親を自宅で介護している息子を対象にインタビュー調査を行い, 介護生活を行う上で感じている困難を明らかにすることを目的とした. 対象は息子介護者9名で, 半構造化面接を行い, 質的記述的に分析を行った. その結果, 息子介護者は, 【要介護者と思うように意思が伝わらない】ことや, 介護生活では【気持ちを切りかえないと介護できない】こと, 【要介護者の体調管理は思うようにいかない】こと, 【家事や介護には慣れない】こと, 【女性物の衣類への抵抗感がある】こと, 【家族と意思の疎通ができない】こと, 仕事をしている息子介護者は【介護と仕事との両立ができない】こと, さらに【将来への見通しがつかない】こと, という困難を感じていた.

Abstract	With elderly population growth, the number of elderly persons with dementia is increasing in Japan. Regarding family structures, households consisting of parents and unmarried children are increasing, and the proportion of those who have never married during their lifetime is growing among males. Therefore, it is expected that the number of sons caring for their parents at home (caregiving sons) will also increase in the future. Caregiving sons have been reported to be involved in approximately 40% of all elderly abuse cases. In addition to increasing care worker turnover rates, the management of these sons may be a future challenge. To clarify care-related difficulties perceived by sons caring for their parents with dementia at home, we conducted semi-structured interviews with 9 caregiving sons, and qualitatively and descriptively analyzed the obtained data. The caregiving sons experienced distress due to [difficulty in conveying their intentions with the care-receiver] and [the necessity of focusing on care] when caring for him/her. They also faced [difficulty in managing the care-receiver's physical condition], [difficulty in becoming familiar with housework and care], [resistance to female clothing], and [difficulty in communicating with other family members]. Those working also perceived [difficulty in coordinating caregiving and work], and developed [anxiety over an unclear outlook for the future].
