Abstract	乳熱牛における乾乳期の骨代謝状態を明らかにする目的で, 乳熱牛(11頭), ダウナー牛(7頭)および健康牛(14頭)において血清酒石酸耐性酸フォスファターゼ(TRAP)活性値の推移を検討した. 乳熱牛の乾乳期の血清TRAP活性値は, いずれも1__0U/l以下であり, ダウナー牛や健康牛に比べて平均値に差異はないものの, 他群で散見された比較的高いTRAP活性値を示す個体は認められなかった. このことから, 乳熱牛では乾乳期に骨代謝が不活性状態にあることが示唆された.

Abstract	Serum tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) activities of milk fever cows (n=11), downer cows (n=7) and healthy cows (n=14) were investigated to assess the degree of bone metabolism during the dry period. In the milk fever cows, the serum TRAP activity during dry period was lower than 1.0U/l, and was not detected high activity cows observed in the downer cows and healthy cows. However, significant difference was not recognized in the mean TRAP activities between milk fever, downer and healthy cows. These findings suggest that the bone resorption and/or metabolism might be reduced and inactivated in the milk fever cows during dry period.
