| Abstract | 高齢者が, 転倒を機にQOLを低下させたり寝たきりになったりすることは少なくありません. 本稿では, 自宅内に潜む転倒リスクを概説した上で, 高齢者の身体機能や心理的側面のアセスメントの重要性や, 支援における留意点等を述べていただきます. 「転倒を防ぎQOLを保つために必要な視点」 転倒は, 自らの意思でなく, 地面, 床, または低いレベルに身体が倒れることとされ, 転倒による不慮のケガが原因の死亡は, 全世界の全年齢で第2位です. 毎年, 世界中で3730万人が転倒によるケガのため治療を受け, 推定68万4000人が死亡しており, 公衆衛生上の課題となっています. 特に高齢者では, 転倒した人の約20〜30%が打撲創・骨折・頭部外傷を生じ, 治療およびその後の長期的なリハビリテーションやケアが必要になったり, 施設入所などにつながることがあります. 高齢者の転倒は, 抑うつ・日常生活自立度の低下などと関連があり, 生活の質(QOL)の低下を招く重大な要因です. |
