Abstract 「SUMMARY」■高齢者糖尿病は食後の高血糖や低血糖を起こしやすく, 低血糖に対して脆弱性を有するという特徴があり, また加齢により腎機能が低下する傾向があることから, 薬物の有害作用が出現しやすくなる. しかし最も留意すべきは, 高齢者糖尿病は青壮年者に比し罹病期間, 併存疾患の有無, ADL, 認知機能障害の程度, 介護者の有無など多岐にわたる多様性を有しており, 暦年齢を基準として画一的に対策を講じることが難しい点である. 本稿で述べる低血糖・シックデイ対策においても, 個々の症例を慎重に見極め, きめ細かい対策を講じるように心掛けたい.
