Abstract 「はじめに」2020年に世界中に流行が拡大した新型コロナウイルス感染症(coronavirus disease 2019: COVID-19)は, 成人では呼吸不全に至る重症例も多い. 一方で小児は, 一般的には無症状もしくは軽症とされていた. しかしながら, 一部に小児多系統炎症性症候群(multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children: MIS-C/paediatric inflammatory multisystem syndrome temporally associated with SARS-CoV-2: PIMS)と呼ばれる, 炎症性の多臓器障害を呈する重症例が報告されるようになった. MIS-C/PIMS(以下, MIS-C)は, 重症急性呼吸器症候群コロナウイルス2(severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2: SARS-CoV-2)感染もしくは接触から2〜6週後に発症する. 全身性の炎症(発熱および検査での炎症所見の上昇)と, 入院を要する重症の多臓器病変(心臓, 腎臓, 呼吸器, 血液, 消化器, 皮膚, 神経)が特徴とされ, なかには川崎病症状を呈する症例が含まれている.
