| Abstract | 「はじめに」認知症は以前, 痴呆症と呼ばれていたが, 「痴呆」という用語は侮蔑的な表現であるうえ, その実態を正確に表しておらず早期発見・早期診断などの取り組みに支障となっていることから2004年に「認知症」へと変更された. 加齢とともに認知症は増加し, 超高齢社会のわが国では認知症は年々増加傾向とされている. 一方世界では認知症が減少している地域の報告もある. 本稿ではわが国の認知症の現状として認知症の疫学と認知症施策の推移および認知症予防について紹介する. 「[I] わが国の認知症疫学」わが国の認知症の疫学調査の1つとして福岡県久山町で継続して行われている調査がある. この調査によると, 65歳以上の高齢者における性・年齢を調整した認知症の有病率は1985年に6.7%であったが, 2012年には11.3%に増加しており, この期間に血管性認知症とアルツハイマー型認知症の有病率は逆転し, アルツハイマー型認知症は1.5%から7.2%に, 血管性認知症は両年とも2.4%と報告された. |
