| Abstract | 「[1] 疾患概念」髄膜炎のうち, 髄液の一般的な塗抹染色・細菌培養および遺伝子検査にて細菌が検出されないものを無菌性髄膜炎という. 無菌性髄膜炎という用語は1925年に Wallgren によって最初に記述され, 急性の発熱と髄膜刺激症状を呈し, 髄液検査で単核球優位の細胞増多を示し, 無菌であることを特徴とするself-limitedな中枢神経系の症候群と表された. 現在ではその原因としてウイルス, 真菌, 結核菌などによる感染症のほかに, 非感染性の原因として薬剤, 生物学的製剤, 膠原病, 腫瘍性疾患も挙げられており, 必ずしもself-limitedではない. 無菌性髄膜炎のうちウイルス感染を原因とするものがウイルス性髄膜炎であり, 原因のほとんどをウイルス感染が占めているため, 本稿ではウイルス性髄膜炎について解説する. |
