Abstract | 「はじめに」パーキンソン病は, 脳内の神経細胞の変性によって振戦, 筋強剛, 運動緩慢等の運動症状だけでなく自律神経症状, 精神・認知症状等の非運動症状も合併する全身性疾患であり, 超高齢社会に突入した本邦において患者数は増加傾向にあるといわれている. 現在のところ, パーキンソン病の進行を抑制する神経保護治療はなく, 対症療法として薬物療法, 脳深部刺激療法などの手術療法, カウンセリング, リハビリテーション (以下, リハ) などの非薬物療法などの選択肢が存在するため, 治療の選択肢は複雑化しており, しばしば複数の治療法を組み合わせることが不可欠になっている. パーキンソン病患者に対して, 拘縮, 疼痛などの二次的障害の予防, 筋緊張異常の軽減, 随意運動の改善, QOLの改善, 社会的活動の増加などを意図してリハが行われる. パーキンソン病の病理学的過程を停止できないにしろ, リハ医療により機能障害の増悪をできるだけ遅延させ, 社会的活動への参加を維持することが目標となる. |
