Abstract 「要旨」 日本の人口は減少していくが, 心不全患者は今後も増加し続けて2030年には130万人に達すると推測されている. 心不全患者には, 高血圧, 糖尿病, 慢性腎臓病, 心房細動といった合併症が高率に認められ, 特に高齢心疾患患者では, フレイルやサルコペニアの合併が予後や再入院に大きくかかわることが明らかとなっている. したがって, 心不全患者の身体機能を高め, 自立できる体力を維持すること, 患者や家族への教育や疾病管理・療養支援が重要であり, ここに心臓リハビリテーションがかかわる意義がある. 心不全に対する心臓リハビリテーションの体力向上・予後改善・再入院予防効果は明らかなので, わが国で広く普及することが望まれる.
