Abstract 「要旨」 大動脈弁狭窄症に対する低侵襲治療である経カテーテル大動脈弁留置術(TAVI)は, 爆発的に普及し成熟期を迎えている. 本治療の目的は当初, 救命および予後改善に主眼が置かれてきた. しかし, 平均寿命および健康寿命の延伸とともに, 社会全体においてQOLの向上が, さらに重要視されている. すなわち, 治療の実施そのものではなく, 治療を行うことで患者のADLおよびQOLを改善し, 望む生き方ができるようにすることが, 真のアウトカムと考えられ, その手段として, 心臓リハビリテーションが果たす役割は大きい. 本稿では, TAVIにおける周術期の問題点と, 術後のリハビリテーション医療について解説する.
