Abstract	「抄録」大学生の緊急避妊薬および低用量経口避妊薬に関する知識習得状況ならびに低用量経口避妊薬の使用に関する意識を明らかにすることを目的とした. 18〜24歳の大学生を対象に調査を行った. 229名を分析した結果, よく知っていると回答した者は, 緊急避妊薬が男性6.9%, 女性2.0%, 低用量経口避妊薬が男性6.9%, 女性5.1%であり, 男女で差はなかった. パートナーに緊急避妊薬の内服経験がある男性は1.5%, 内服経験がある女性はいなかった. 性交経験があり低用量経口避妊薬を内服中の女性は3.2%, 内服経験あり3.2%, 性交経験はなく内服経験あり4.5%であった. 低用量経口避妊薬の服用に対し否定的な者が多く, 男性は「副作用が心配」, 女性は「副作用が心配」, 「経済的負担」が最も多い理由であった. コンドームだけでは避妊に失敗する可能性があること, 低用量経口避妊薬の高い避妊効果とその他の効果について, 初交前までに専門職が指導する必要がある. また, 性感染症予防にはコンドームを使用すること, 緊急避妊薬についても指導する必要がある. 専門職が積極的に緊急避妊薬および低用量経口避妊薬に関する指導を行う必要性が示唆された.

Abstract	[Abstract] This study aimed to clarify levels of knowledge about emergency and low-dose oral contraceptives among university students, as well as their attitudes towards the usage of the latter. Between the ages of 18 and 24 were administered a questionnaire; valid responses were obtained from 229. "High" self-assessed knowledge about emergency contraceptives was claimed by 6.9% of males and 2.0% of females, and about low-dose oral contraceptives by 6.9% of males and 5.1% of females. In addition, 1.5% of males claimed to have had a partner who had taken emergency contraceptives before, but no females claimed to have taken them. Among female respondents, 3.2% claimed to be sexually active and currently taking birth control, another 3.2% to be sexually active and have taken it at some point, and 4.5% to have taken it before despite not being sexually active. Negative attitudes towards birth control pills were common among respondents: the most common reasons given were worries about side effects among both males and females, and the high financial burden by females. Before their first sexual encounter, adolescents and young adults should be taught by professionals about the possibility of getting pregnant if only a condom is used, as well as the contraceptive efficacy and other benefits of birth control. This population should also receive guidance on condom use to prevent sexual transmitted diseases, and about emergency contraceptives. Study findings highlight the need for adolescents and young adults to receive proactive instruction on the use of both emergency and low-dose oral contraceptives.
