| Abstract | 「はじめに」2023年, 新春早々の1月6日にアメリカ食品医薬品局(FDA)はアルツハイマー病(Alzheimer disease:AD)の治療薬として開発が進められてきたレカネマブ(Lcanemab)を迅速承認したと発表した. このニュースはADの人たちにとって認知機能や日常生活をより長く維持し, 患者の生活の質を向上させることが期待され, また患者家族の介護負担の軽減にも繋がる. しかし後でも触れるように, 実際の診療でこの薬剤を使用するに当たっては, ADの早期診断や費用の面などで解決しなくてはいけない問題も多々ある. 認知症の予防と治療については, 血管性認知症では脳血管障害の危険因子に対する対策を立てることで予防も可能であるが, 認知症の大部分を占める変性型認知症(アルツハイマー型, レビー小体型, 前頭側頭型など)では, その原因も不明であることから, 予防についても治療についてもまだ確立した方法はない. |
