Abstract [ABSTRACT] This study followed 147 children, whose chronological age was 2-3 years at the start of the study, until they reached the end of preschool at 5-6 years of age. The results of the initial developmental tests were compared with the results of follow-up developmental/intelligent tests. The study results were as follows: 1) The majority of the children had a DQ score in 70s at the initial test; however, the majority of the children had a DQ/IQ score in 90s at the follow-up test. 2) The level of intelligence of the children who were first examined in the first half of their second year can be divided into two groups; those whose IQ score reached "average" and those whose IQ can be categorized as an "intellectual disability." 3) The DQ of 46.3% of the children increased by 15 points or more between the initial test and the follow-up test, and the percentage of the children whose DQ increased was higher at the age of 2 years than at the age of 3 years. 4) 42.9% of the children with DQ in 70s and 32.4% of the children with DQ in 60s at the initial test reached the average range before school.
