Abstract 本研究では思春期・青年期の自閉スペクトラム症(ASD)児者および定型発達(TD)児者を対象に, ASD児者の語用能力がTD児者に追いつくのか, 追いつくとすればそれはいつか, について検討することを目的とした. 中学・高校生および高校卒業以上の12歳から33歳までのASD児者62名, TD児者144名それぞれについてことばのつかいかたテスト(TOPJC)正答数と年齢との相関を求め, 両群の正答数を比較した. その結果, TOPJCが測定する語用能力においてTD児者は年齢的な変動を示さないことが示された. ASD児者は12歳を過ぎてもまだ語用能力について習得の途中であり, 19歳以降にはTD児者に語用能力が追いつくことが推測された. また中学・高校の時期のASD児は皮肉の理解に関してまだ習得途中であることが示唆された. ASDの中高生においてもTOPJCを用いたアセスメントは有用であることが示された.

Abstract This study aimed to investigate whether and when the pragmatic abilities in adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) catch up with a typically developing (TD) group. The Test of Pragmatics of Japanese for Children (TOPJC) was administered to 62 individuals with ASD and 144 TD individuals ranging in age from 12 to 33 years and correlation analysis was applied to the numbers of correct responses and age; the numbers of correct responses between the two groups were conducted were then compared. The results showed no correlation between age and the number of correct responses in TD individuals. The adolescents with ASD under 19 years old were still in the process of acquiring pragmatic abilities, but caught up with the TD group after the age of 19. Additionally, adolescents with ASD younger than 19 years were still developing irony comprehension. The results indicate that assessment using the TOPJC is useful for adolescents with ASD younger than 19 years as well as children younger than 13.
