Abstract 「はじめに」新型コロナウィルス感染症は世界的に蔓延し, 医療システムに重大な問題を引き起こし, 人々の生活に脅威をもたらした. わが国では, 新型コロナウィルス感染症は2020年2月に指定感染症となり, 新型インフルエンザ等対策特別措置法の改正により外出自粛の要請や軽症の感染者においても入院措置が強いられ, 多くの受け入れ病院においては, 病床が不足していった. 2020年4月には都市部を中心に感染症患者の増加で医療崩壊を起こした. 新型コロナウィルス感染症患者は重症化すると急性呼吸窮迫症候群(acute respiratory distress syndrome: ARDS)を併発し, 長期入院を余儀なくされる. また, カテーテルによる医療関連機器圧迫創傷(medical device related pressure ulcer: MDRPU)やカテーテル関連尿路感染症(catheter-associated urinary tract infections: CAUTI)を発生しやすくなる.
